Coalport was established in 1795 and is among the first Porcelain Factories from England.
This heavily gold scrolled green victorian set is circa 1893, England, a very rare piece marked "Chicago Exhibition 1893" which is right when Coalport started a big push exporting to different countries. All of their pieces were entirely hand carved and hand decorated in this time, and the details are just magnificent!
I'm not sure if this piece was the actual display piece or if they were sold and labeled as such, in either case this is definitely among the FIRST Coalport pieces sent to the U.S. market.
Very nice condition. No crazing ,gold is in mint condition. there is a tiny chip that I almost missed on the cups rim right by the handle (see last photo). These pieces are otherwise flawless!
